Voss Manufacturing

Voss operates in two buildings in Lockport and is ISO 90001 certified.  Their management team is very sustainability minded and recognizes the financial and environmental benefits for reducing Green House Gas emissions. Recognizing there was opportunity to operate their HVAC systems more efficiently they were open to ideas for improvements here before they embarked on the next steps in their clean energy journey.

Green Building Partners was introduced to the senior management as a member of Energy Mark’s energy management consortium. GBP developed a proposal for turnkey deployment of a wireless energy management system (EMS) to reduce waste from heating and cooling spaces during unoccupied hours. The project scope included utility incentive management, utility savings estimates, ROI analysis, and project implementation support. In-house electricians wired in 48 communicating thermostats which replaced the old thermostats throughout their office (RTUs) and plant (ceiling mounted gas-fired heaters). GBP supported the installation with wiring diagrams, installed the wireless infrastructure, and set up the dashboard application, including weekday / weekend scheduling.
